Sustainability
Sustainability is
more than a path
Firmly rooted in the region, we know the potential of our trees. Looking at the forests, the cultural history of mankind reaches deep into them and is still inextricably interwoven with them. So when we at THEURL talk about a culture of sustainability today, we are thinking of wood as a building material of the future.
Showing consideration
for nature
Even as a building material, the carbon footprint of wood remains positive over its entire service life.
Regionally rooted
Our wood mainly grows within a radius of 100 kilometres, comes from sustainable forestry and meets PEFC standards.
Optimally utilised
Thanks to cutting pattern optimisation, no valuable timber is lost and every tree trunk is used in the best possible way.
Completely utilised
Whether as heating material for our biomass power plant, as sawdust or wood chips – no chip remains unutilised.
Sustainably stored
Trees act as important CO2 reservoirs. Our solid wood products do the same and also replace conventional building materials whose production consumes fossil fuels.
Naturally supplied
To supply our sites with energy and hot water, we utilise both the resource of wood and the power of the sun with our biomass power plant and photovoltaic systems.
Thoughtfully delivered
Thanks to efficient logistics and the shortest possible transport routes, we are able to minimise CO2 emissions.
