The “feeling” company, based in the Feldkirch district, has set itself the goal of bringing people closer to knowledge of the healing power of plants. It goes without saying that the feeling of naturalness should also be tangible in the new headquarters in Satteinser Au: an L-shaped building encloses the show garden, so that the interior and exterior spaces visually flow into one another when looking through the generously glazed showroom.

Timber structure

Structurally, the designers largely relied on uprights and beams made of wood and a ceiling and roof construction in the form of glulam ceiling elements and glulam beams

THEURL was able to provide sophisticated joinery services during the course of the project and delivered a total of eight lorry loads or 341 m³ of industrial-quality glulam, 125 m³ of which were glulam ceiling elements with connecting grooves and rebates in visible quality.

Precision and efficiency

The designers appreciated the many advantages of glulam in terms of its easy workability and high strength right from the start.

In this case, the rod-shaped glulam elements were ideal for use in the structural area for the columns and beams of the wide-span ceilings. Thanks to the high degree of prefabrication, the glulam elements supplied were ready for installation and could be installed on site in no time at all. Thanks to the dimensionally accurate prefabrication – the components of the glulam ceiling elements were machined with high precision on the Hundegger systems – the client and architects were delighted with the perfect surface quality, which is in keeping with the company’s philosophy.
