Vilsalpsee restaurant

Commercial building, Tyrol

A deep blue lake at an altitude of 1,165 metres and the mountains all around – the Vilsalpsee is one of the most beautiful excursion destinations in the Tannheimer Tal. This is precisely why a dynamically positioned polygonal building was created, giving this special place a new identity. What building material other than solid wood could be used for this project? CLTPLUS wall and ceiling elements were used for the timber building construction and ensure swift construction progress.

The building radiates naturalness in an innovative style and offers a sense of security.

The clear separation of the functional areas guarantees a smooth and efficient workflow. The restaurant and kiosk, with the necessary ancillary rooms, are organised on the ground floor, while the private living and recreation rooms are on the upper floor. The dining area with its large glass surfaces is orientated towards the lake and offers one of the most beautiful views over the lake.

A total of 200 m³ of CLTPLUS wall and ceiling elements in industrial quality were used for this building.

The joinery challenge was due to the many different panel thicknesses and numerous machining steps, such as drilling holes. With regard to logistics planning, it was possible to maximise the loading space optimisation (LRO) and load the individual components in the correct order.
