Saalbach Suites

Hotel construction, Saalbach

The Saalbach Suites by ALPS RESORTS are located in the immediate vicinity of one of the largest ski resorts in Austria. The exclusive suites with tasteful furnishings, Finnish sauna and outdoor hot tub have been combining skiing or hiking holidays with an unmistakable wellness feeling since 2002. An additional building was added to the resort for the 2024 winter season, which even offers guests a private wellness area. The use of wood contributes significantly to the feeling of relaxation and wellness.

Feel-good guarantee with wood

The access core with lift, the underground car park and the plant and storage rooms of the new hotel building in Saalbach were constructed with reinforced concrete. The rest of the building is made of wood. Particularly noteworthy is the high proportion of wood in visible quality, which gives the suites a special feel-good atmosphere and wellness feeling. The timber construction also emphasises the close connection to the surrounding nature. Guests can escape everyday life directly from their accommodation and access the piste or hiking trails.

Challenging planning and implementation

The raw material wood can be prefabricated and processed well in advance, thereby significantly shortening and simplifying construction on site. A particularly high degree of prefabrication was realised for the Almdorf Saalbach. The joinery was an exciting challenge, as the numerous visible wooden surfaces required utmost precision and special attention to many smaller details. The material was delivered in a total of 15 lorry deliveries. Of these, 3 lorries were brought to Kulmer’s factory so that the exterior walls could be prefabricated, while 12 lorries with the WAB system (interior walls and ceilings) were transported directly to the construction site in Saalbach.
