Timber construction based on the Scandinavian model

In addition to a kindergarten with crèche and primary school with after-school care, the newly created educational campus also includes a public library and music school as well as a sports hall, which is used jointly by the school and clubs. In keeping with the Scandinavian way of thinking, the market town of Laxenburg has thus created an inviting meeting place for all generations, from toddlers to senior citizens.

Sustainable building, future-orientated teaching

The architecture of the pioneering educational facility not only meets current educational requirements, the holistic concept in solid wood construction is also designed to be particularly sustainable. THEURL was commissioned to supply the walls and ceilings. However, the joinery proved to be extremely complex due to the factory’s joinery services for slopes and the connections to the steel beams. Thanks to appropriate planning in advance, logistical challenges and the tight delivery schedule were easily overcome.
