Solution approach
The architectural firm Polo Architekten designed a hybrid office building for its client DEME. The walls, ceilings on the upper floor and the rof are built with CLTPLUS solid timber elements. LTS Laminated Timber Solutions carried out the timber design and construction. Between June 2022 and November 2022, 15 fully loaded lorries left THEURL’s factory in Steinfeld.
Result
A total of 730 m³ of CLTPLUS wall and ceiling elements in industrial plus quality were installed. The challenge in this project was the joinery, as this was complex due to the end face machining. In some cases, the maximum machining depth of the joinery machines was required for the slots and cut-outs. A total of 2,500 precise drillholes were required for this project.
