Gampern KIGA
Educational facility, Upper Austria
The new kindergarten building in Gampern is a huge relief and enrichment for the young residents of the 2,600-strong community north of Lake Attersee. Two groups were able to swap their temporary premises in the attic of the local primary school for those of Kindergarten II, which was completed in 2022, and there is space for an additional unit as well as a therapeutic education group from Lebenshilfe, which was able to relocate from Attnang-Puchheim to Gampern.
Solution approach
In order for the children and carers to move in on schedule, THEURL had to deliver the prefabricated components in the qualities CLTPLUS, glulam spruce and glulam larch on time. Due to the design of the double walls, all installation ducts were also prefabricated in the factory and only put together like a puzzle on the construction site according to a precisely worked out plan.
Result
Of the approximately 340 m³ of components, 290 m³ were CLTPLUS in industrial quality on both sides with outer walls 200 thick, inner walls 140 thick and ceiling elements 160 and 220 thick. The smell of the forest and the feel of the natural wooden surfaces accompany the children at the Gampern day-care centre throughout the day and invite them to explore the material and the construction method with curiosity and all their senses.
