Solution approach

For spans over six metres, ribbed ceilings offer an effective, economical solution that is characterised by excellent strength, stability and a high load-bearing capacity with low weight.

Result

Facts that users feel every day, but hardly realise: Freedom, spaciousness and comfort, surrounded by wood and with a view of the countryside.

Built on nature

Light-coloured natural stone, fine fibre cement and sandblasted exposed concrete accompanied by pre-greyed fir wood as cladding for the façades set visual accents. The planners placed just as much emphasis on craftsmanship as on the quality of the materials used. In addition, the green concept of the façade offers the residents a wide range of opportunities for self-realisation, creating an individual appearance that can change with the seasons.

Glulam ribbed ceilings in solid wood construction

No wonder that wood was the material of choice for the realisation of the constructive structures.

THEURL supplied glulam elements for the ribbed ceilings of the residential storeys, which were built using sustainable solid timber construction methods, as well as 570 m³ of CLTPLUS industrial-quality ribbed ceiling elements. A total of 14 lorry loads made their way to the construction site in November and December 2021. The extremely short construction time of just 431 days required perfect cooperation between all companies and synchronised planning on the part of THEURL: the glulam ribs required numerous millings for installations and fully threaded screws had to be screwed into the openings immediately after setting, as all elements were already glued and screwed together by THEURL in the factory.
